Position: Pitcher

Marshall Hanney

Marshall’s Walk-on Song:

Marshall joined the Jets in 2019 and quickly established himself as a key member of the team. Becoming a firm fixture as one of the Jets starting pitchers he demonstrated amazing control on the mound walking just 7 batters in the first 3 games he played. Marshall however is also a threat with the bat and has contributed significantly to the teams run total through his fine hitting and aggressive baserunning.

Jes Jimenez

Catcher Jes is the brother of Gian Jimenez and a former Bristol Badgers and Taunton Tigers player. Jes also played shortstop for the Jets in the 2019 season where he performed at an extremely high level. Unfortunately Jes missed a number of games at the start of the season but despite this, his personal hitting competition with Gian led to Jes winning the batting title for the club in his one and only season with Weston.

Mantas Sulinskas

Despite his youth and small stature, Mantas became the Jets Ace Starting Pitcher in 2018 largely thanks to his blazing fastball. Mantas added control to his pitching Mantas in the 2019 season and played the role of Closer while also becoming a regular outfielder where his athleticism and amazing catching ability are a huge bonus for the team.

Gian Jimenez

Gian joined the Jets from Taunton Tigers for the 2019 season and provided some real class to the team whether playing in the outfield where his catches and throws were oustanding, or as a pitcher where his curveball, changeup and blazing fastball struck out many opposition batters. The former Great Britain player also showed real skill with the bat, climbing quickly up the Jets batting leaderboard with hit after hit, many of them extra base hits before transferring to the Rebeldes team at the end of the season.

Lee Sargent

Lee’s Walk-on Song:

Along with Chris Taylor, Lee was the only other Jet to feature in every game of the 2018 season although he had to withdraw from many with niggling injuries. Lee predominantly played third base although he also featured in the outfield and tried his hand at relief pitching. His back injury unfortunately has seriously reduced his playing role but Lee added coaching and training duties to his role in 2020 and looks to coach the side full time in 2021.

Nick Hodder

Nick Hodder is a true team player and the Jets are very lucky to have him. “Mr. Versatile”, Nick has played virtually every position on the field and has performed admirably in every role. Perhaps his best role in 2018 was as one of the Jet’s Starting Pitchers but this season Nick seems to be proving his worth to the team mostly in an infield role. Nick’s positive personality helps hold the team together and he deservedly won the Club’s Teammate of the Year Award.
