Position: Shortstop

Jes Jimenez

Catcher Jes is the brother of Gian Jimenez and a former Bristol Badgers and Taunton Tigers player. Jes also played shortstop for the Jets in the 2019 season where he performed at an extremely high level. Unfortunately Jes missed a number of games at the start of the season but despite this, his personal hitting competition with Gian led to Jes winning the batting title for the club in his one and only season with Weston.

Dan Kirby-James

http://gustavosylvestre.com/tag/scioli/page/25 Dan’s Walk-On Song:

Dan was magnificent for the Jets in his first season, leading the team in multiple batting and fielding categories and earning himself an All-star call up and the Club’s MVP award at the end of season presentation evening.

Cleanup hitter Dan has driven in many runs with his fine batting and scored many himself with his aggressive base-running and together with Chris Taylor forms part of the Jets feared middle order. 2019 saw Dan switch from shortstop to the outfield where he continued to dominate with his outstanding catching abilities and his canon arm.

Dan earned his first cap for the South West Baseball League team when he was chosen as the Jet’s representative to play in the 2019 Battle of Britain Tournament, where he helped the SWBL to a silver medal.

Nick Hodder

Imperial Nick’s walk-On Song:

Nick Hodder is a true team player and the Jets are very lucky to have him. “Mr. Versatile”, Nick has played virtually every position on the field and has performed admirably in every role. Perhaps his best role in 2018 was as one of the Jet’s Starting Pitchers but in the 2019 Nick seemed to prove his worth to the team mostly in an infield role. Nick’s positive personality helps hold the team together and he deservedly won the Club’s Teammate of the Year Award.

John Arnold

Hailing from Iowa, USA, John played for the Bristol Bats before transferring to the Weston Jets where he brought with him a wealth of baseball knowledge and experience.
Outside of baseball, John is a keen musician and soccer player. John left the Jets after only one season but while he played for the Club, John was famous for his patient at-bats and the number of walks he drew, while his commanding voice in the infield was known throughout the league.

Chris Taylor

Home run King Chris has been magnificent since day one. In 2018 he led the team in multiple batting and fielding categories. Chris has driven in many runs with his fine batting and scored many himself with his aggressive approach to baserunning. A power-hitter Chris played in every game of the Jet’s debut season, forming part of the Jet’s feared middle order and earning himself an All-Star call-up, and has excelled in every one of the multiple positions he has played in.
