2020 Recap

As everyone knows 2020 was a year to forget. The SWBL season was cancelled due to the Covid-19 Pandemic so the Club had an almost baseball free year. The Jets were going to enter the BBF supported tournament in between lockdowns but unfortunately doubts over player numbers prevented our entry.

We did however manage to get a play a few friendly games. We had double headers against both the Cardiff Merlins and the Newton Brewers. In both match-ups the result was one game won and one game lost.

Danielle Oz also made history by being hopefully the first of many female players to pull on a Jets jersey for the first time.

Three Jets players; Dan Kirby-James, Nick Hodder and Rich Hall also took part in the Bristol Charity Tournament at Keynesham in memory of our Bristol friend Greg Roscow to help raise money for Mental Health UK in his memory, and were on the winning team. Dan even claimed he hit an inside the park home run in the final! Dan and Nick also played in the Essex Tournament where they lost both their group games before narrowly beating the UK’s first all female team.
