obnoxiously It is with great sadness that I have to confirm that Sunday’s game against the Merlins was the last game for Mantas Sulinskas in Jets colours.
Mantas is moving away to take up a job opportunity on the Isle of Wight, and while of course we all wish him the very best for the future, he will be a massive missed and a huge loss for the Jets.
Mantas was one of the original founding Jets members and was the Club’s number one starting pitcher for much of the Jets debut season.
While Manti sometimes lacked control and could be wild on the mound, he possessed a blazing fastball that coming from someone of his small size took many opposing teams by surprise and many opposing batters grew to fear.
Mantas will always go down in Jets history for earning the Club it’s first ever win, a 33-20 victory at Newton Brewers in September 2018.
Mantas switched to the outfield this season, playing left field, where his energy and athleticism produced many outstanding catches, while at the plate, he became a more disciplined and patient hitter while still being one of the most aggressive base runners at the club.
Good luck for the future Manti, you will be welcome back into the team if ever you decide to return to Weston!
